And The Word Factory is ...
Words - Rory Baxter
Rory has been Editor of an award-winning public sector website; Editor of a BBC magazine; Editor of Production Engineer, Numerical Engineering and Computerised Manufacturing; Editor of a local authority website; and Editorial Director of an international PR and marketing organisation. Way before that he was Assistant Editor of The Master Builder, Medical Laboratory World, Laboratory Practice, and the Journal of Medical Engineering and Technology.
He's also produced words for many hundreds of businesses in a huge range of sectors. With no major rewrites in over 21 years, Rory has produced press releases, technical articles, web sites, features, brochures, newsletters, adverts [magazine and radio], and much, much more. His work has been published around the world, with one piece second only to Barack Obama on Sky News and name-checked by the Prime Minister. Satisfied clients have included companies in China and the USA, as well as the UK.
When not working with direct customers, Rory has provided press releases, copywriting and account manager services for countless PR agencies up and down the country. Integrating seamlessly into their teams, he has combined quality, professionalism and gravitas to complement what they offer their clients.
What's important in all this is that Rory knows the difference between what fills editorial columns and what fills editors' bins and deleted items folders - he ought to, he's thrown away skiploads of irrelevant material in his time.
Rory is renowned for being pedantic about quality and accuracy yet still able to meet the tightest of deadlines (he's never missed one yet). It's the journalistic training in him. He can't help it.
